Honorary Membership for Captain Yilmaz Dagci 01-02-2009
The Yacht Harbour Association is delighted to announce that Captain Yilmaz Dagci has been awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership of TYHA. This Honorary position was presented to Yilmaz at the recent Annual General Meeting when he was presented with a prestigious TYHA 5 Gold Anchor Award flag.

Captain Yilmaz Dagci has been a Member of TYHA’s Management Council since 2001. He was elected with the special role of Overseas Representative responsible and authorized by the Association to recruit Members and to undertake Gold Anchor Award Assessments in Turkey.

Yilmaz has now retired from this executive position, however, he has assisted the Association in supplying the needs of overseas members and has improved the communications between the UK and Turkey which has ensured that members receive the greatest benefits from their membership with TYHA. Due to his untiring activities over the years, the relationship between the UK and Turkey are closer than ever, which is of great importance to our international development.

Although Yilmaz has formally retired, he assures us that he is very willing to assist his successor, Mr Murat Tuncer, Secretary General, Turkish Chamber of Shipping, who will now take a place as one of the overseas representatives on the TYHA Management Council. We very much look forward to working with Murat and of course, continuing our excellent relationship with our dear friend Yilmaz.
