Change At The Top For Transeurope Marinas 11-02-2008
After 3 years as Chairman of TRANSEUROPE MARINAS, Jean-Michel Gaigné, CMM, has handed over the Chair to Andrew Jaggers, CMM, at the Association’s Annual Meeting, recently held during the Collins Stewart London Boat Show.

Jean-Michel is Managing Director of Saint-Quay Port d’Armor in Brittany, a 1000+ berth marina with a fine reputation as a cruising destination.

Jean Michel said that he had been honoured to have been in charge at TransEurope Marinas for the past three years. The organisation is a unique European grouping of independent marinas which cooperate solely for the benefit of yachtsmen and women, providing high quality destinations around Europe in 7 countries. He is also looking forward to watching TransEurope flourish in the future.

Andrew Jaggers is Manager of Bangor Marina and Harbour in Northern Ireland. Bangor welcomes around 2000 visiting boats each year and the marina has been a TransEurope member for over 3 years.

Andrew said that it is a pleasure to take over the Chair from Jean- Miche, who has provided excellent leadership during his time in office and has cemented the already strong links between our members. The organisation continues to expand, with 27 fine marinas throughout Europe committed to offering the best facilities and service at discounted visitor berthing rates to Members’ customers.

The latest marinas to join TransEurope Marinas are Royal Quays Marina at North Shields on the River Tyne and Nieuwpoort Yacht Haven, Belgium, bringing the total number in the group to 27, spread throughout UK, Ireland, Channel Islands, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands.

Royal Quays Marina already has excellent cruising links with Holland and Scotland. Nieuwpoort Yacht Haven is northern Europe’s largest marina and provides a huge range of facilities for visiting yachtsmen and women.
